The almond blossom hill in Mittelwihr: an impressive natural sight

In the heart of Alsace, in Mittelwihr, one of the most picturesque regions of France, lies a springtime treasure: the hill of almond trees in bloom. Every year in March, this enchanting natural event attracts visitors to admire the ephemeral spectacle of thousands of almond trees in full bloom. Whether you're a lover of nature and wine (especially the Mandelberg Grand Cru), an amateur photographer or simply looking for a peaceful getaway, the Almond Hill in Mittelwihr is the ideal place to spend a memorable weekend with family and friends. Local associations offer three signposted routes starting from Mittelwihr town centre, with tastings and snacks at the top of the Mandelberg as a reward. And for the more courageous, you can start your walk from our guest houses in Kaysersberg Vignoble (e.g. Le Caveau, Le Pressoir), via the national necropolis at Sigolsheim (45-minute walk).
